Colorado Springs is a breathtaking destination, famous for its stunning views, outdoor adventures, and strong sense of community. It attracts individuals and families who dream of designing their perfect homes in a serene yet vibrant environment. With Pikes Peak towering over the landscape and numerous recreational opportunities, it’s a prime location for custom builds. This article highlights five exceptional neighborhoods in El Paso County, each offering a unique blend of community spirit, convenience, and natural beauty.

1. Monument

The town of Monument sits just north of Colorado Springs. This area is a mix of old homes on estates and newly built tract homes. The area has seen explosive growth over the past few years with homes being built by some of the top builders in the country.

This town offers a private golf course that winds through old growth trees and beautiful homes from the last century. The town is still relatively small but growing daily.

This is a perfect location that has land available, and is in between Denver and Colorado Springs. Taking I-25 will get you to Denver in about 45 minutes, and Colorado Springs in 20.

The neighborhood is known for its engaging community spirit, hosting numerous events throughout the year, which fosters connections among residents. 5. Black Forest

This is one of the most sought after areas in Colorado. With old growth trees, varying landscapes, and rare views of the Rock Mountains, this area is home to many upscale custom homes.

The Cathedral Pines neighborhood is one of the most prestigious in the area. Home to many multimillion dollar estates, you can see why this area is so special. Black Forest sits higher than Colorado Springs which makes the climate here slightly colder and wetter.

Unfortunately, there was a large fire that swept through parts of the forest back in 2013 that destroyed over 500 homes. Since then, fire mitigation has been done to help protect the area from future fires. The new growth has exploded, which brings animals like deer, moose, mountain lions, antelopes, foxes and racoons.

There is still land to be found, although very expensive, making this a great place to bring your family and build a custom home!
